The Virginia Historical Preservation Society and Metal Detecting Club is a diverse group of men and women who are interested in saving and preserving the rich history of Virginia.
At our monthly meeting, club members and guests display their metal detecting recoveries, share metal detecting and relic hunting stories, and discuss Virginia history and the Civil War.
Our meetings are casual and educational, but most importantly they are fun and friendly. Our growing club always welcomes guests and new members. If you are: interested in learning about relics from Virginia's past, a metal detecting enthusiast, a civil war buff, or simply just curious; we encourage you to attend our next meeting!
We hope you enjoy our site and we would love to hear from you.

Marty Veron - September 2009
Marty was having a good day of hunting with his T2 earlier this month. The area he was hunting had given up a couple of Large Cents and Indian Head pennies already when he got a great signal about 6 inches down.
Digging the target revealed Marty's new prized silver gilt Virginia State Seal button. The button is coat sized and a deep convex type with an "Extra Plate" backmark and straight intact shank.
"It was a good way to close the day," says Marty.
